It was first built as a Library for the Peters’ home, and along with The Cook’s Room, these are the only guest rooms located on first floor of the Inn, making them excellent choices for those guests for whom partial accessibility is important. Step-in shower, grab bars
This room was the original (1889) kitchen for the Elmwood estate. Later (1910) as the kitchen was moved into the “summer kitchen” space it was turned into the servant’s dining room. In the 40s it became a bedroom for the first floor apartment and now has been re-created as the Cook’s Room.
The High Season maximum rate is $219.00. Shoulder season range is from $199 to $175 per night.
More information and photos...Described by a Provincial Tourism official as, “The most beautiful room in the Province,” the Premier’s Suite is a luxurious eight-sided queen bed-sitting room.
A spacious living room with a tole painted original working fireplace, hardwood flooring and a Nain Persian rug and an antique mahogany burl sleigh bed as a sofa plus being a wonderfully comfortable overnight accommodation for an additional guest, French doors open to a queen bedroom with lacy canopy topper over the pillows. From the other side of the living room is a fully equipped galley kitchen. We suggest to most guests that they may consider it as a giant minibar, with fridge, stove, dishwasher, coffeemaker, teapot, microwave, although it is usable for cooking as well as for special dietary needs. The oak and pine furnishings reflect the country styling, private skylit bathroom, with a corner Ultra Bath thermo-masseur air tub for two with shower. Sleeps up to four (with one single airbed cot for the fourth person).
An inviting room with shallow queen bed alcove, modest seating area with a pair of wing backs and coffee table, a broadloom area rug over the hardwood floor, an outstanding 1800′s marble top step dresser with tall mirrored back and candle stands, walnut decor, footed soaking tub with shower in the private bath.
A private secluded roomy garret living room with a three-sided Halifax dormer, twin oak Mission beds flanking the original working fireplace as day bed sofas, Flat Screen TV with DVD/VCR. The bedroom has a queen bed with angled canopy and a second Flat Screen TV, iPod dock clock radio/cd and there is a small galley kitchen with Coffee maker, tea pot & kettle, fridge, stove, dishes and utensils, dishwasher and microwave. Broadloom over the hardwood floors, footed Victorian soaking tub with shower in the private bath. Oak and pine predominate. Sleeps up to four. A full Suite for the price of a room!
This is in many ways our most Romantic room. Rosa’s Room has fabric draped angled walls making the queen bed area into a dreamy canopied cocoon that anchors one end of the 45 foot long space. The other end of the narrow unit has an elegant mirror-bordered bath with a six foot thermo-masseur air tub for two complete with shower. TV/vcr and iPod dock clock radio/cd player. A handknotted Chinese all silk rug, hardwood floors, small sitting area with Victorian sofa and rocker, an electric fireplace for atmosphere.
A cozy queen room with a new fireplace for atmosphere, cut Chinese rug over hardwood, Double Irish Chain quilt, small sitting area, Flat Screen TV with DVD/VCR, iPod dock clock radio/cd, private skylit bath has a five and one half foot footed Victorian soaking tub. Oak decor. [Note re the photos: in order to get the full space of the Nurse's Room our photographer used a wide angle lens which accentuates the foreground. It makes the space between the dresser and the bed appear deeper than it is.]
High Season maximum rate is $149. Shoulder season range is from $139 to $99.
